I got gestational diabetes as well. Speaking of the clucose level, it's hard to control after breakfast. I always stay above 8.0 1 hour after breakfast. For other meals, I am fine. I lost weight already. I am 31weeks right now. Hopefully, it will be under control after 32 weeks. I don't eat any fruit except kiwi and grapefruit. I have meat, eggs , veg. and a little bit "Starch food" every day, no rice at all, even though I really miss it! Anyway, for my daughter's health, I can overcome this.
